The trading technology team is focused on providing front-office traders a sophisticated suite of decision and analytic functions allowing them to manage and execute high volumes of transactions in an automated and exception-based manner.

The team interacts daily with the trading desks it supports, in a fast-paced and business-focused environment. Role ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate should be a self-motivated, dedicated individual with strong architecture and coding skills, who will work with the Securities Lending desk to build full stack trading applications. This role requires comprehensive knowledges in software design.

The candidate must have a desire to take full ownership of every aspect of the SDLC from requirements gathering through testing and deployment in an automated manner. This individual will work in an agile cross-functional manner with the trading business (product owners, traders, strats) to build the next generation of the Securities Lending trading suite. This individual should have strong interpersonal skills and feel comfortable working directly with a trading business.

Required- 7+ years of working experience of Java and/or Scala- 3+ years of DevOps CI/CD experience on test and release automation- Strong relational database experience (DB2, Sybase preferred)- Complete SDLC process and Agile Methodology (Scrum)- Strong oral and written communication skills - Excellent interpersonal skills - High quality software architecture and design methodologies and patterns - Interest in and willingness to deeply learn the Securities Finance trading businesses Skill Desired:- Experience with Scala- Event-driven systems- Apache Kafka; KStreams framework- Web UI experience using an HTML5 framework (Angular, React) - Knowledge of Securities Lending, Repo, Secured Funding, or Prime Services- Linux, Scripting, Python or Perl - Strong background in API designEducation: Bachelor or higher degree in computer science or related majorsExpected base pay rates for the role will be between $140,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.Field: Development.
